Background: He had a book written in another language, at least he assumed it was a language, which he couldn't translate. When he found someone to translate it that guy stole the book. He's set off into the world to try and get it back. He used to work in a temple, copying out the blasphemous texts and then shoveling them into the fire. Nothing else would satisfy the Goddess.
