  • Mike Holmes: The woman talking to Gennadi as everyone watches the ship unloading in the lake looks at Serama and Elle. "She is from Sarnak, I would guess," she then gestures to Serama, "but you, you dress as they do, but look nothing like them."
  • Gennadi raises and eyebrow, as this is something he hadn't noticed.
  • Serama: serama straightens herself and replies to the woman, "I am a refugee from Ochu, taken in by my sisters among the Sarnak."
  • Mike Holmes: The Rhiani woman looks to be about 20 and very pretty in a dusky way. "Ochu? who are they?"
  • Serama: "I know little of them," Serama says. "My father fled from a conquering power many years ago and would not speak much of his homeland."
  • Gennadi raises and eyebrow to Breanna
  • Serama: Elle, Serama's Sarnak companion, steps forward defensively towards the woman: "Sera is my sister, taken into my family many years ago. If there is any dispute of her heritage, it will be I that settles it."
  • Serama: "Elle, it's okay," Serama says. "She was just curious..."
  • Mike Holmes: "I was merely commenting on her different appearance," she says. "We see amazons fairly frequnetly here, of course, given that Sarnak is not very far. I had just never seen one like her."
  • Gennadi: (to Elle) "We Rhiani are a straightforward people, milady. We say what we are thinking and consider it far beyond rude to do otherwise -(glance to Bre)- it be offputting, I'm told."
  • Gennadi: [edit: it CAN be offputting]
  • Mike Holmes: The woman frowns, "Offputting? Saying other than the truth is insufferable. It is beyond me how other cultures manage to survive with everyone telling lies all the time."
  • Serama: "Serama is as good as my blood," Elle states. "She carries a hard enough burden to suffer attacks on her heritage."
  • Gennadi: "I meant to say that our method of speech may be offputting to others, plains-sister."
  • Gennadi . . . o o o O O (Cay knows that the effect it has on people other than US wouldn't have occured... heavens forfend)
  • Mike Holmes: "So, they'd rather hear lies," she says, without artifice.
  • Serama: "Elle," Serama says, clenching a pendant that hangs loosely around her neck. "Thank you. Both of you." She looks to Gennadi. "We have answered your questions truthfully, goodwoman. May we pass?"
  • Gennadi: "true enough... though they call it politeness, which of course only confuses the issue when they visit our People."
  • Mike Holmes: Serama notes the woman looking intensely at her amulet.
  • Serama: Recalling her time with the Rhiani and the direct nature of their discourse, Serama challenges the young woman, "Why do you stare so at this heirloom? Are you a thief?"
  • Mike Holmes: "My name is Elahra," she says politely. "Where did you get that?"
  • Serama: "I asked first. Do you refuse me an answer, Elahra?"
  • Mike Holmes: "I stare not because I'm a thief," she nearly spits out the word, "but because the symbol on the amulet is like those found on stones in the white wood. Across the lake."
  • Mike Holmes: She gestures expansively towards the far side of the lake, where, barely visible at this distance, white trees make a white forest.
  • Serama: "Then I shall answer your query and take my leave," Serama says in a blunt tone reminiscent of her Rhiani upbringing.
  • Serama: "This pendant is my burden. It cost my father his life and I intend to see that it is never given the opportunity to do so again."
  • Serama: Serama walks past the woman, though keeping alert to any sudden movements from behind her.
  • Gennadi: Milady?
  • Serama: Serama turns icily towards Gennadi.
  • Gennadi randomly picks out some phrase of politeness from the stories his mother told him as a child and ignores Breanna's eye roll.
  • Mike Holmes: Elahra turns to Gennadi, "is your companion always so annoyed?"
  • Gennadi glances at Elahra, "Probably... who are you referring to?"
  • Mike Holmes: "The odd amazon."
  • Gennadi: "I... do you have a place to... stay? I feel indebted for you companionship. Please allow me to find you a hospitable tent for you and your brave companion to rest."
  • Serama: * the cold, unfeeling eyes of serama melt at his words.
  • Serama: "Sure. Can we just..." Serama looks uneasily towards Elahra."Leave?"
  • Serama: "I..I need to go."
  • Serama: The pendant around Serama's neck gives off a faint glow at these words...
  • Gennadi steps forward and takes Serama's hand. "Please stay, if only for a few hours. Rest. Eat." He dangles a softly glowing river stone from the leather cord wrapped around his wrist. "I know something about needs beyond one's own."
  • Serama: Serama looks confusedly at Gennadi. Her brow crinkles at his words.
  • Gennadi: "surely a few hours of rest will speed your further travels.
  • Serama: Elle stands before Elahra, staring down the woman. She is furious that her lack of protocol has upset her sister and a mystic of her people.
  • Gennadi has flat-out NO idea what to say that might calm down the warrior woman; he's demonstrated that amply already.
  • Mike Holmes: "I did not mean to offend," says Elahra. "I've said nothing *to* offend."
  • Serama: Serama notices Gennadi glancing towards Elle behind her.
  • Serama: Her confused look slides off her countenance like rainwater, replaced by a spartan and serious expression.
  • Serama: "Elle," she says. "Leave her. We must go. We have no time to waste on this enterprise."
  • Mike Holmes: Elahra turns and walks away a bit consternated.
  • Serama: Elle and Serama begin to walk away. Serama turns at the last minute towards Gennadi, a girlish grin upon her face, "Come with, if you like, but I'm afraid I can't run off with you now."
  • Gennadi extends his hands helplessly. Alas, lady, my path lies opposite yours... for now, at least. I cannot help but think we will meet again, however. Perhaps under more favorable circumstances."
  • Gennadi does NOT glance at Elle during that last bit. Noticeably does NOT glance at Elle. At all. Nosirree.
  • Serama: Serama smiles an honest smile at the disheveled rogue.
  • Serama: Serama and Elle move further down their path and Gennadi catches a quick glance over her shoulder. Her eyes seem sad at their parting.
  • Gennadi: Serama catches Gennadi's thoughtful frown when she glances back. The very idea of Gennadi with any kind of thoughtful expression is enough to draw her up short.
  • Gennadi walks after the pair of women, "Milady, one question, if you would."
  • Gennadi: "It seems you are heading south... and my poor blistered feet can easily attest that the only thing south of here are the ruins of Sherezak and Vajaar." [spits, casually and habitually]
  • Serama: Serama turns around quickly. "Yes..." she says. but it sounds more like an answer....
  • Serama: "Um...yes...we're headed to Shererezak...."
  • Gennadi: "But... well, far be it from me to interrupt some sort of eleaborate sacrifice, but... that's suicide."
  • Gennadi: "The city is gone. Nothing walks there but the dead. The living are best off... living. Elsewhere, more to the point. There couldn't be anything there for you."
  • Gennadi: "If you seek your sister..."
  • Gennadi swallows.
  • Gennadi: "and you have reason to think she lives, I can promise you she does not live /there/."
  • Serama: "We seek my adoptive sister, Alitia. Sherezak is our only hope." The pendant visibly gives off light at this last statement.
  • Mike Holmes: A merchant who seems to just have conducted a transaction with the personnel on the ship, comes towards the pair. Indeed it seems that the area is quickly becoming a little marketplace.
  • Mike Holmes: "Baubles from Stroane?"
  • Gennadi: "There is no hope left in Sherezak, milady. I cannot believe that."
  • Gennadi: "Think on that, if you will, while you secure provisions for your travels. I will be here should you decide to explore other options."
  • Serama: Elle's face turns white. Looking down at the merchant's baubles, she holds one up in morbid awe.
  • Serama: "This... this is Alitia's!" Elle says. "Where did you get it?!" Elle demands of the merchant. "Where is my sister?!"
  • Gennadi blinks, because damned if he was expecting that kind of divine confirmation.
  • Serama: Serama looks away from Gennadi towards this new development. She is obviously taken aback by Elle's display.
  • Mike Holmes: "This?" says the startled man. "This was dropped by...I'd rather not say."
  • Gennadi: "There is... it seems... hope in many unlooked for places."
  • Serama: "You'd better say!" Elle says intimidatingly.
  • Serama: A glare in her eyes conveys that she has seen (and participated) in many castrations in her day. Her hand holds the hilt of her sword gingerly.
  • Gennadi: "I rather think it would be in the best interests of all concerned if you did say, neighbor."
  • Serama: Serama comes to Elle's side. She holds her staff at the ready. "What goes on here?" she demands of the merchant.
  • Mike Holmes: "The story behind where these came from," he says stopping. "It's a story I don't like to tell. But you say that you had family who had this?"
  • Serama: "It once belonged to my companion's sister," Serama says. "whom we are searching for at present. Any information you have would be most appreciated."
  • Gennadi finally notices Breanna glaring at him. Can't figure it out. Men.
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, it's most terrible." He really seems hesitant to go on. "There were these things traveling north along the valley. They were black and winged. And a woman in strange black armor lead them. They had with them slaves from the south. I would guess from Sherezak except that I hear all are dead there, now. But these were alive."
  • Mike Holmes: "Once they passed, I followed for a while, and found a few things," he says, and then admits, "Including this."
  • Mike Holmes: He hands the bracelet over not asking a price for it.
  • Gennadi: "where?"
  • Gennadi looks a bit desperate.
  • Gennadi: "where was this? Near here? where is this valley?"
  • Serama: Elle takes the bracelet the merchant offered. She pulls it close to her face as if to smell it. Her face twists in a grimace of pain.
  • Serama: "I know where it is," Serama says in montone, looking far off into the direction of the valley.
  • Mike Holmes: "The valley is the great river that flows from this very lake," he says. And then, again reluctantly, "And their destination was the white wood. My condolences."
  • Serama: "And Elle and I must go there. I understand if you choose now not to follow. But I do not fear this armored woman."
  • Gennadi glances at Serama's amulet.
  • Serama: She looks up into Gennadi's eyes. Does her look hold innocence, seduction, or something more? "I can protect you." She says. "I can protect you."
  • Gennadi shakes his head slightly... not in disagreement, but in that subtle, unconscious body language that says "nothing can save me from this, and still I'll go."
  • Gennadi: "I think my path may be yours, milady." His voice holds no joy in it, though certainly not due to Serama. His eyes are far away.

  • Mike Holmes: As Gennadi and Breanna look about the impromptu market (perhaps considering obtaining some items sans charge), an odd woman enters the area. She looks like a priestess, and Breanna notes, "Andaran, look."
  • Mike Holmes: Indeed, the woman has the cat symbols on the broad hem of her gown. She looks to be aging, but in good shape. And she has that grace that one would expect.
  • Gennadi hmms and approaches, making the subtle back-of-hand-to-face gesture of the faithful. (or at least the faithful as he knows it)*Mike Holmes: fhhhjg vhtghgjguj
  • Gennadi raises an eyebrow as he comes to a stop near the woman.
  • Mike Holmes: The woman makes a strange sound as she makes the countersign. Then, "I had scarce thought to find faithful in this place. Where are you from?"
  • Gennadi: "Sherezak", making the Gesture to Ward Off Evil.
  • Mike Holmes: "Ahh, I suspected there would be faithful there, but didn't know if any had survived. Are there more?" She asks. She seems very intense.
  • Gennadi gestures mutely to Breanna, currently examining a merchants booth... that is... his wares.
  • Mike Holmes: "Ah, yes," she notes Breanna, "but besides the two of you? Are you all that is left?"
  • Gennadi: from Sherezak, all that I know of.
  • Gennadi: "though I've just learned that there are others, captured by the witch that doomed the city.
  • Gennadi clenches his jaw. "I'm going to try to save some of them."
  • Gennadi relaxes his stolid pose. "Some of them anyway. Steal them away, if you like, like a mother rescuing her cubs."
  • Mike Holmes: "Indeed?" she says dubiously. "And where are these unfortunates?"
  • Gennadi tells her.
  • Mike Holmes: "Aaahhh," she says knowingly. Then a moment later something seems to occur to her, "Well, that would make sense."
  • Gennadi tells her the whole sordid thing, abridged.
  • Gennadi blinks.
  • Gennadi: "make sense?"
  • Gennadi: "something about the white woods connection, I assume?"
  • Gennadi . . . o o O (Or the 'well, I can see you're cursed, so yeah, it makes sense you have to go there')
  • Mike Holmes: "Yes, I've had a vision, the cat in the wood leading it," she says. "Perhaps I can guide you."
  • Gennadi: to the White Woods?
  • Gennadi looks... surprised... gratified... a bit... something uncharitable.
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, I'd prefer not to go myself, of course," she says. "Forgive an old woman her cowardice."
  • Mike Holmes: She preens for a moment.
  • Mike Holmes: "But I could tell you where you must go."
  • Mike Holmes: "You realize that the wood is monsterously large, no?" she says. "And fantastically dangerous."
  • Gennadi: "First, and most importantly, you're no more an old woman than I am."
  • Gennadi: secondly, any advise you have would be very much appreciated.
  • Mike Holmes: "Ahhh, ha ha. Flattery will get you everywhere, young one," she says, putting a hand on Gennadi's chin.
  • Gennadi: I... had an inkling of that last part.
  • Mike Holmes: "Why don't you come to my tent tonight, and we can discuss matters of the Lord of Cats?" she looks to both Gennadi and Breanna. "What say you?"
  • Gennadi: the... part about the woods, that is.
  • Gennadi nods. Yes. We will both come. And thank you.
  • Gennadi gives Breanna the 'play nice' look.
  • Mike Holmes: "Excellent!" she says. "I'll convene some of the faithful. You see, I've been busy since my arrival here, and we have a small community of worshippers."
  • Gennadi represses some of his immediate objections or caveats and simply nods.
  • Mike Holmes: Though the woman does a good job of trying to seem local, something about her height, and a slight accent tip Gennadi off that she's a northerner - like Serama's friend, but more like some of the men on the ship. Shorter sorts. Also like those from Kaitane that Breanna talks about. But definitely with a more northerly accent.
  • Gennadi: "You're not from Sherezak, am I right?
  • Mike Holmes: "Not from around here at all, clever one," she admits. "I'm originally from a kingdom far to the north. There were problems with pressure against our kind there, and I had to flee here. I had intended to reach Sherazak, but..."
  • Mike Holmes: She gestures expansively, indicating her failure.
  • Gennadi nods.
  • Gennadi: "We are, all of us, out of our element."
  • Gennadi: "I understand.
  • Mike Holmes: "Quite," she agrees. "You are a very perceptive lad, she says. I find that...fascinating..."
  • Mike Holmes: Again she stares into Gennadi's eyes a bit too intensely for comfort.
  • Gennadi: "most do, once they've met me. It tends to surprise people."
  • Gennadi waggles his eyebrows.

  • Mike Holmes: Sebastian notes Alexander walking up with a scroll in his hand. "There's somebody who you'll want to speak of just arriving from the ship."
  • Mike Holmes: He grins slyly.
  • Sebastian: "You know that I get nervous when you smile like that Alexander."
  • Mike Holmes: "Take a look," he says as he gestures over his shoulder towards a boat just landing, it's passengers clambering ashore.
  • Mike Holmes: The last person out of the boat is Laura.
  • Sebastian: A slight smile touches Sebastian's lips. Alexander observes that this one reaches the eyes, and that is a rare occurance.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian ghosts through the crowd in order to catch Laura.
  • Mike Holmes: Laura is trying to wriggle a chest from the boat as Sebastian comes up.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian silently steps forward in order to assist her.
  • Sebastian: "I did not expect to see you on this trip, my Lady."
  • Mike Holmes: Laura turns, "Sebastian!"
  • Mike Holmes: She plants a big kiss on him, almost uncharacteristically
  • Sebastian: Sebastian looks into her eyes and smiles, "It is good to see you my dear."
  • Mike Holmes: "What an amazing voyage," she says gesturing back towards the ship.
  • Mike Holmes: "Help me with this."
  • Mike Holmes: She struggles with the trunk.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian takes the trunk, "And to what do i owe this unexpected, incredibly pleasant, surprise?"
  • Mike Holmes: "The Alaxatan's hired me to spy on you, of all things," she says brightly. "And I intend to do just that."
  • Mike Holmes: "Are there tents or something?"
  • Sebastian: "Of course, do you wish your own, or would you rather share mine?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, I don't know. Would it do to have a spy in your tent?" she says coyly.
  • Mike Holmes: "Oh, by the way, if anybody asks, I'm here with the Prince's assessor's office. That's my cover," she grins again.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian laughs softly, "We both know you'll be there all the time no matter where you sleep... But I suppose that appearances must be maintained." Sebastian sighs in mock resignation.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian laughs again, "The assessor's office? When will those fools learn to find good cover stories?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, I have worked with people there before," she says. "I can carry it off, basically."
  • Mike Holmes: "Anyhow, is there anything to do in the backwater?" she says, almost regretfully looking back towards the ship as it finishes it's final unloading.
  • Sebastian: "My dear, we both know that you can carry off anything you put your mind to. I assume that _they_ don't know that?" he inquires teasingly.
  • Sebastian: "Do? Well, there is always the challenge of recruiting informants among a people who can not tolerate anything but pure truth... And there is some incredibly lovely scenery in the area, especially the waterfalls up river."
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, I suppose," she says a frown coming over her face. "It's not that transparent, is it?"
  • Mike Holmes: She seems actually concerned looking about, and straightening up a bit.
  • Mike Holmes: "Oh, I have something for you," she says, remembering something. She searches her person, and discovers something in a petticoat.
  • Mike Holmes: She produces a letter.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian reaches out and takes the letter. He allows his hand to linger over hers for a moment before examining it.
  • Isadora strides briskly towards Sebastian and Laura, having been helpfully pointed that way by people still offloading the ship.
  • Sebastian makes a small gesture toward Laura alerting her that we have company.
  • Isadora: "It seems that we all received visitors. How delightful." Isadora nods towards Laura, seeming a little distracted.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian turns and starts a bit as if just noticing Isadora's approch.
  • Sebastian: "Ah, Lady Isadora, may I introduce you to the Lady Laura? Lady Laura, Lady Isadora is the head of the Kaitaine expidition here. Lady Isadora, Lady Laura is here on behalf of the Prince's Assessor's office."
  • Mike Holmes: "Are you the leader of the colony?" says Laura bowing slightly. "I'm from offices of Prince Rylec Quatarris - assessors to be precise. His highness has ordered a survey of this expedition for tax purposes."
  • Isadora bares her teeth in a rough approximation of a dazzling smile. "I'm pleased to welcome you, Lady Laura. We welcome spectators to our carnival of pain."
  • Sebastian: Sebastian appears startled. "Something has occurred my Lady? Is there anything that I may do to assist you?"
  • Mike Holmes: Laura tries to take that in stride, "Well, I hope it's not as bad as all that."
  • Isadora: Isadora sighs and passes a hand over her face, then straightens and offers a more sincere smile to the two of them. "It's not so bad, Lady Laura, but the natives are quite touchy and I've been dealing with them more than I'd like today."
  • Isadora: To Sebastian, she says, "Nothing too serious, I hope. Some visitors who might have some impact on the course of business, so it seemed only polite to mention it to you."
  • Isadora: The explanation is a little hollow--why seek Sebastian out now? But her calm is restored, and she sticks by it.
  • Sebastian: "I am, as always, at your service my Lady. You will still be able to meet with me this afternoon? I sense that there is something more at work than the foibles of the native population."
  • Mike Holmes: "Certainly. I hope that I'm no imposition,"she says. "To see to it that I'm not, the Prince sends me with monies to defray my costs."
  • Mike Holmes: She fetches a purse, and hands it over to Isadora, "I trust that this will cover my stay?"
  • Sebastian smiles to himself at a reminder of home.
  • Isadora: "Your senses are sharp," she says to Sebastian. "I look forward to our later meeting."
  • Isadora: "I'm certain it will be more than sufficient," Isadora adds to Laura, taking the purse. Checking its contents would be vulgar; she'll leave that to accountants.
  • Sebastian: "As you say my Lady." Sebastian bows to Isadora and turns to Laura, "If you will come this way Lady Laura," and he leads her off toward the tents.

  • Mike Holmes: Isadora findsAdept Salast talking to Pallos. Salast is a short and fat man, with somewhat shabby robes. Sent by Lord Marvars as an "advisor" for the colony, in theory he was supposed to use his magic to protect the camp and men. To date Salast had been less than useful in this.
  • Mike Holmes: Pallos, on the other hand, was nearly indispensible. A trecker of impresive abilty, he managed to regularly transport people back and forth along the rout to the coast to get back and forth to Kaitaine. Without him, it would be very dangerous to try, and only skyship transport would be safe.
  • Mike Holmes: Pallos stood listening, his very trim frame standing confidently.
  • Mike Holmes: They both note Isadora and turn.
  • Isadora: "Gentlemen! I hope some new calamity has not beset us that requires your combined skills?" Isadora smiles engagingly, her temper restored to normal.
  • Mike Holmes: "Not at all, lady," says Salast. "It would seem that everything is going just wonderfully. Wouldn't you say?"
  • Mike Holmes: He puts on an idiotic grin.
  • Isadora: "Wonderfully is a word I might use, if I were in a creative mood, yes. What, pray tell, is the current mystical weather?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Ah, well, everything is fine there, too," he says. "Well, there is that Andaran in the village. And some word of some mystic there making trouble."
  • Mike Holmes: He tries to cheer up, "But nothing that should worry you, your ladyship."
  • Isadora: "I thrive on trouble. I relish it. I defy you to worry me. Please continue." Isadora seems oblivious to any notion that her absence might be convenient.
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, there's also the spirits that come out of the swamp at night," he continues looking a bit pained, "but I thingk that I have that under control for the moment."
  • Mike Holmes: "And those little demons, don't forget," offers Pallos helpfully. "You really should do something about them before they become a problem, Salast."
  • Mike Holmes: Salast shoots Pallos an evil glare.
  • Isadora: "Oh, I especially want to hear about the demons." She makes a note to have some good wine scrounged up and sent to Pallos.
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, the locals tell us that they're mostly harmless. Well, there's two kinds, actually, one more trouble than the other. Seems that we may only be dealing with one of them. And it might be one of the less problematic sorts, " he relates tiredly. "In any case it hasn't done anything to date that I can see, so..."
  • Mike Holmes: He shrugs with resignation.
  • Mike Holmes: In the distance Isadora notes several people taking to new tents. Leuta, Fazeris, and Laura all in a row.
  • Isadora: "I trust that you're doing everything in your considerable power to stave off that second, more troublesome kind of demon." Isadora nods to him graciously, and seems ready to leave, but then... "One other thing. I can't help but notice we're still receiving refugees--any clearer word on that business down south?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, other than that report from Narbin and Lessos on the, um, what did they say Pallos?" Salast fumbles.
  • Mike Holmes: Pallos picks up, "My partners and the merchant said they'd seen some sort of demons leading some refugees or slaves or something into the White Wood."
  • Isadora perks up a bit. "How many? That hasn't been a regular occurrance."
  • Mike Holmes: "No," Pallos continues. "There were perhaps three score in tow, if I remember what Lessos said. Very strange. Normally I don't fear treading the border of the White Wood - nothing really ever happens there. This is, yes, very unsusual."
  • Isadora: "And right in our backyard. I'll have to spare scouts to look into it. Thank you for the information." She arches a brow. "Anything else?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, the only other thing that I can report is that Nurek says that the Vajaari are patroling the rout more regularly now," he relates. "But I think he might be just saying that. After all, what use is a Vajaari traitor to us if there's no Vajaari threat? In any case, I'm not too worried."
  • Isadora: "Good, then." She nods, satisfied. "Stand fast against the demons," she adds to Salast, then turns and goes.
  • Mike Holmes: Salast sighs, "Of cours, ladyship."
  • Mike Holmes: Isadora notes Fazeris going into Leuta's tent.
  • Isadora pauses a moment, then heads that way. It's not snooping if she's just passing by and hears something...
  • Mike Holmes: As Isadora passes Laura's tent on the way, he notes Sebastian helping her get settled in.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian watches Isadora's back until she passes out of earshot. He turnst to Laura, "This should do for now, are you by any chance hungry?"
  • Mike Holmes: "Yes, famished," she says. "We ate like kings on the ship, but the last meal was hours ago."
  • Mike Holmes: Laura has always been a big eater.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian smiles indulgently, "Well, it just so happens that the quartermaster here is a wonderful cook and he has done quite well selling some of the wares you have been forwarding to me. I'm sure he can put something together for us."
  • Sebastian: Sebastian offers his arm to Laura.
  • Sebastian: Sebastian and Laura head off in search of Speckler, idly chatting about old times.
  • Mike Holmes: *
  • Mike Holmes: Outside of Leuta's tent, Isadora notes that the tent flaps are closed.
  • Isadora frowns. Undignified to be caught listening... but she can't depend on straight answers from either of them. She approaches, hoping to catch some sound from inside.
  • RPG Serv: Notice: <Roll for Isadora [1d20]: 10>
  • Mike Holmes: Apparently they're not making much sound...or perhaps it's just all the activity in the camp.
  • Isadora: Oh, well. Discreet snooping was never her thing, Isadora decides, and just pushes her way into the tent unannounced. She prepares a flashing smile and greeting for whatever might wait inside.
  • Mike Holmes: Fazeris is on Leuta's bed, and they're making eyes at each other as Isadora barges in. Leuta shifts back quickly as if ashamed, and Fazeris grins broadly at Isadora.
  • Mike Holmes: "Well, hello."
  • Isadora: Well, things could be worse. Isadora smiles back, matching him. "I wanted to see how Lueta was settling in. I see you're helping to make her... comfortable."
  • Mike Holmes: "Yes, yes," says Fazeris. "But I think she's fine, now. Where, in this bucolic setting, does one get something to eat, Isadora?"
  • Mike Holmes: "I think I shall stay behind," says Leuta, lookign embarrassed. "The trip was really a fright, and I think I need some rest."
  • Isadora: "The best food is dinner in my tent. You're both invited, naturally, but please take all necessary rest." She inclines her head to Leuta, then says "Shall we?" to Fazeris.
  • Isadora will have to warn her sister about Fazeris... soon.
