The term spirit refers to the force behind beings that are associated with the Spirit Worlds, being those forces that originally rebelled from the gods to lead the peoples of Shadow World on their own.

As such, the spirit is also an important part of the spark of an intelligent being from the mundane world. When a person who communes with spirits dies their spark is usually lead to an afterlife in the Spirit Worlds associated with their Animist Traditions.
