Amber, the Abomination
~a.k.a.~
d20 Amber

Amber.  Diced.  Using the d20 system of all freakin' things.  WHY?!?

I'll be honest:  I just wanted to see if I could.

Again: Why?

My short answer I think it works from a story point of view. Caine is every bit a Rogue, and so is Bleys, though in a nicer way. Caine can actually be dangerous with his knives without needing the same stats as Benedict, and Benedict... Well, He Just. Gets. Scarier.

My long answer is... too long:  suffice it to say that it's made up of many small things:  Artifact Creation, Shadow Manipulation, putting Trump in it's proper place, the wonderful way in which Feats can be defined, and I wanted to do something to support the OGL.

The next question my diplomatic player's gave me was: Why not just use straight DnD, then?

Well, that's a little easier to explain. I made my own set of rules for using the Amber in d20 for the same reason I made my own version of the ADRPG rules... my version suited me better.

For the record, though: these rules are not designed to stand entirely alone.  (Legally, they can't be designed that way, under the OGL.) It will help if you have the d20 Core Rulebook 1.  The Star Wars Rulebook might come in handy as well.

This isn't a solution for everyone.  Maybe it's not even a solution for anyone... that's as may be.  Hopefully, I won't be the only people reading the page.
