Logrus

The Logrus is the Chaos Court's answer to Amber's Pattern.

Sort of.

Except that no one walks the Logrus to prove they are a chaosite. You're a chaosite by being born in the Courts... you prove you've got cajones of solid admantine when you assay the Logrus.

Logrus initiation is considered to be a near religious experience. Walking it gives the initiate power through shadow on par initiates of a Pattern, and in some ways, the Logrus' usefullness is even greater. Where it comes from, no one knows. Perhaps the Serpent Constructed it, perhaps it sprang into being as part of a Cosmic balancing act when Dworkin created his Pattern, perhaps it always has Been, perhaps it Isn't even now... Confused? Then you have some inkling of what it is to have seen the center of the Logrus...

The Madness
Logrus masters do not talk about the experience often. The Logrus initiate ... sees ... experiences ... feels ... is shown ... at the center of the Logrus -- SOMETHING that inflicts the madness that is the only Constant for this Chaos Power: if you assay the Logrus, you Will go Mad--perhaps for a moment, or a day, or the rest of eternity--it's hard to say, but though every initiate goes mad, there is very little patience (and some small fear) felt for those who Stay mad.
Think about it: Dworkin went crazy... and stole the Eye of the Serpent, then went out into the middle of nowhere and rebuilt the Universe--this is generally considered ample justification for any small amount of paranoia on the part of the Courts.
Other people with lesser but still permanent madness are not regarded well. An example of this is Felicia, daughter of Osric, who's madness got her banished from both the Courts and her 'official' family--she hasn't been seen there in years.
