Lean, fast -- an arabian. If I had the resources and the time to prepare, I'd set up relay points, pony express style, so I could ride the hell out of each horse and not slow myself down.
Other's will probably dislike that fact that Kethos will do whatever needs doing to accomplish a goal. He and a player may be working for the same thing, but played right, Kethos would be willing to go to greater lengths of depravity in order to succeed. End justifies the means, and all that. He has an annoying habit of idly rubbing/pulling/scratching at the scar that crosses his face, just below his dead eye, usually with just one gloved finger.
You return to a comfortable, way-side inn that has housed you in comfort numerous times over the years. You find that the kindly family that runs the inn has just been threatened, beaten up, and robbed. You track down the bandit leader and capture him. What will you do now?
I gut him on a large hook... preferrably something hanging from the ceiling of a warehouse or somthing similar. Having his lackies and women watch while he defecates over his boots and expired would make things particular suitable.
What was your character like at the age of ten? Was your character a wimp, bully, nerd, snitch, klutz, popular? Write up a little description, and, if you like a little day-in -the-life story about your character at that age.
That was about the age the Finndo probably managed to kill the last vestiges of childhood in Kethos, turning him into his tool for the retaking of Amber. He would have been dark and withdrawn, but would have reacted like a hungry puppy to any (apparently) genuine show of warmth or affection.
Going back to the guilty bandit, assume that you decide that banishment in a far-off shadow/reality is an appropriate punishment. Describe the place you would seek for this purpose.
I'd release him in Finndo's shadow and organize a festive hunting party and traveling vacation around his weeklong tracking and destruction.
Assume your character needed/wanted to spend some time in a place like the Mythical Old West. Assume it's around 1875, after the Civil War. Your stay will be for a matter of years. Describe what role and appearance your character would adopt.
He'd be a sheriff in a small western down, living in a fine house while he wrung the inhabitants of the town dry. He would utterly control the town. (Think of the main bad guy in Quick and the Dead.)
Answer the same question above with regards to the Swashbuckling era of pirates, Privateers, and Musketeers.
Queen's privateer. Utterly ruthless and feared even by the ships on 'his side.'
Describe your character's personal bedroom or suite. Describe the contents and the various rooms, the style of the furniture? Describe your favorite reading spot, and favorite chair.
Black on black, utterly humorless, but decorated here and there with odd little momento's -- a gift from his father on his fifth birthday -- and a story to go with each item that delinated the death of all joy in his life.
Which self-improvement course does your character need more:"Assertiveness Training", "Ten Steps to a New Love Life"' "how to Win Friends and Influence people", "Organizing your Life" Why? Which course would your character be qualified to teach?
Pry 'Ten Steps' -- but what he really needs is some SERIOUS family counseling. He could teach assertiveness training, but if they students didn't catch on fast, they'd pry get the shit beaten out of em.
If your character uses servants, which servant is most trusted? Most liked? Most indispensable?
Describe them.
Cordemarre is a close approximation: a peer that Kethos doesn't remotely consider his equal. Kethos works very hard to be utter self-reliant. He goes out of his way to embarrass or mentally hurt anyone showing him kindness.
Everybody has some little item that they regard as somehow sacred. A piece of clothing, a memento of some event, whatever. What is your character's sacred item? How did your character find it? How did it come to be important?
Kethos received a ornate knife from his father, hand made, for his birthday. His dad made as though to hand it to him, and sliced open his outstretched palm. Finndo then said "Childhood's over, boy. Don't trust anything given you freely, and know that to keep breathing, you will eventually have to kill those closest to you, or kill yourself." Kethos was five years old.
Strange as it seems you find yourself in need of the service of a hunter-killer beast from the realm of Chaos. Since it can take any form you request, and , in this case, it will be something of a calling card, how would you like it to look?
A hunting hound or falcon.
Describe your character's voice. Would you say your character speaks with formality? Casually? Does the character have any favorite expressions/curses?
His voice is dull, listless, and rasping, with a slight drawl and sardonic, sarcastic tinge to everything he says.
