The Tir

"And the great city was divided into three parts."
--Revelations, chapter 16, verse 19

Dramatis Personae

Artanis Artanis
Mistress, perhaps queen of the 'Eldar' element of the Tir, Artanis is eternally young, incredibly powerful, and perhaps one of the oldest living individuals in the universe. Countless generations of eldar, themselves centuries old, trace their ancestry back to the ageless leader of the fey.

At the conclusion of the Burning Heaven civil war, Artanis (with the aid of Anaxamander and her son Quinn) contained and destroyed the creature known as the 'Eater', at which time Artanis asserted control of the Tir as the Queen of Dream in the New Tir Order.

Anaxamander Anaxamander
Also called 'Anax', brought to Amber by happenstance, where he walked the Pattern. He later disappeared during the effort to rescue Fiona, and appeared again later, working for the Osric/Brand faction, against Amber. Has since allied himself with Osric and walked the Tir Pattern, and just recently has abandoned all factions (and the Tir) entirely in search of his father, who is rumored to be among the living, despite evidence (and good faith) to the contrary.

Bridgid Brigid
Artanis' foil in Tir Eldar politics, Brigid leads the 'Mori', a branch of the elves that did not travel to Tir when they were first given the opportunity ages ago. These people sheltered and aided the Eldar when they fled Tir's Binding. In return, Artanis made Brigid and her people certain concessions when the Tir was freed.
Brigid is a well known mercenary, and is a feared warleader and combatant, having even facing Benedict in single combat and surviving. She is known to have professional dealings with Osric in the past, and abandoned the Tir during the "Burning Heaven" civil war in favor of greener, and as yet undiscovered, pastures.

Garvin Garvin
One of the initiates of the Tir Pattern, he walked the Pattern on a dare from his inebriated companions and, miraculously, survived. Jailed for a murder that he not only did not commit, but which in fact never occured, Garvin was still in his magistrate cell during the "Burning Heaven" civil wars, and was very likely destroyed by the creature known as the "the Eater".

Lusharra Lusharra
"And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness."
              --Revelations, chapter 12, verse 14

Perhaps one of the most regrettable casualties of the war, Lusharra was a mystery even to herself, without a past or a memory of any time preceeding her 'reunion' with Osric when he first came to the Tir.
Lusharra died trying to protect a wounded Anaxamander from a group of Fallen Eldar bent on his destruction. Her efforts saved his life, but at the cost of her own: she died one day before the end of the war.

Master of Ceremonies The Master of Ceremonies
The leader of the mysterious order that maintained the history and control of Tir's legal and social structure. The position is filled from within the organization, like the Papacy. Following the "Burning Heaven" civil war, the Master of Ceremonies assumed a role subservient to Artanis, and the Magistrates, once his minions have filled the inevitable administrative gap.

Osric Osric
During the course of the campaign, Osric has managed several interesting stunts, most notably blinding and imprisoning Benedict, impersonating Benedict believably for several months while smuggling working ammunition out of Amber to Brigid, driving Bleys insane, and taking over one-fifth of the universe. (Or at least setting himself up to take it over.)

During the "Burning Heaven" civil war, Osric's faction fared badly, taking the brunt of the initial attacks from the Mori/Fallen Eldar/Magistrate coalition. He fell back and allied himself with Artanis and Theseus in a desperate defense, during which even his detractors admit he acquitted himself honorably and without fear.

The final days of the war resulted in the death of his (perhaps adopted) daughter Lusharra, the last of the e'chil'ch, or Winged Folk. In a rage, Osric sought a final resolution to the conflict that would utterly destroy the enemy... what he either created or summoned was The Eater, an abomination that eventually consumed every organic thing within the floating city of the Tir. Osric has not been seen since, and was possibly consumed by his own creation.
