\n What can you do with only 200 words?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I’m studiously ignoring the line: “the game doesn\u2019t necessarily have to be fun”<\/em>, for reasons that should be obvious<\/strong>, and decided to submit a thing.<\/p>\n

Here is that thing.<\/p>\n

freaks<\/h1>\n

\"doomWe’re playing heroes mighty, but maligned; devoted, but shunned. Feared by the same people they protect\u2026<\/p>\n

Freaks.<\/p>\n

Start<\/h2>\n

Think up a character. Golem. Vampire. Angel. Vampire angel? Go nuts.<\/p>\n

Pick a Specialty<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  • Sneak<\/li>\n
  • Fight<\/li>\n
  • Manipulate<\/li>\n
  • Use Powers<\/li>\n
  • Investigate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Define Your Power<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • List Blessings<\/strong><\/em>. Think “thematically related; but incomplete.”<\/li>\n
    • List Banes<\/strong><\/em>. Why are you a freak?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      These can color<\/em> scenes. If they’d affect a Conflict, say how.<\/p>\n

      Play<\/h2>\n

      Establish character(s), setting, situation.<\/p>\n

      Each scene, everyone wants stuff<\/em>. Play your guy and push for it; you’ll hit a Conflict<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Grab one FUDGE die for your GOAL<\/strong> and one for the RISK<\/strong>. (No risk? No roll.)<\/p>\n

      ADD A DIE IF…
      \n… there’s another Risk.
      \n… Banes have effect (stop here<\/em><\/strong>).
      \n… Blessings have effect.
      \n… your Specialty matters.
      \n… you’re prepared.<\/p>\n

      Roll.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. If Banes apply, discard the best die.<\/li>\n
      2. If Blessings\/Specialty\/Preparation apply, discard a bad die for each.<\/li>\n
      3. Assign dice to Goal<\/strong> and Risks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Goal Die:<\/strong>
        \n + Goal achieved.
        \n 0 Mixed success.
        \n – Opportunity lost (for now).<\/p>\n

        Risk Die:<\/strong>
        \n + Risk defeated
        \n 0 Danger Remains
        \n – Injury, Loss, Goal interference<\/p>\n

        If Danger\/Injury Remains, it becomes an Added Risk whenever, until you fix it.<\/p>\n
