Mostly actual play from online tabletop games, played on Roll20. Also random other stuff.

Character generation.
Another "one shot" (ha) with my family over summer break.

This time, we're playing Psi*Run, about supers on the run from a shadowy organization.

We missed the Prologue, and picked up after character generation and the inciting "Crash" incident.
I started off the year with a truly new #ttrpg experience - one of my kids ran a game for ME! First time that's EVER happened.

We played #Runecairne and she damned near killed me. It was great.

(We didn't TOTALLY separate the player/warden roles in this, because part of the reason we were doing this was so I could teach her to GM, so we did a two-person game (Runecairne is great for this) and a scenario I'd already run with Sean, and had open on my screen to spot any gotchas and give her tips.)
Pretty much what it says on the title. My whole family (not just my kids, but my wife) sat down to play an RPG together. This has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, and it's was bloody and glorious, because that's what Eat the Reich delivers.

just me rambling about the last year in gaming and what's coming up
Me and the kids sit down to talk about the One-Armed Scissor "one-shot" - kind of a celebration/wake/post mortem.

Overall Impression: The one-shot served as an enticing introduction to Wildsea's setting and mechanics. While certain areas, like travel and character origin options, left players desiring more, the unique world, engaging whisper mechanics, and collaborative ship-building process were significant highlights.

In summary - we had a good time, the game is cool, we want to play some more (even Kaylee), and we don't super-enjoy canned one-shot scenarios.

Our heroes find the surviving crew of the One Armed Scissor and safely escape the Manor.

Yup. Totally safe. No problem.

#wildsea #ttrpg #actualplay

This session focuses on the players' daring escape from a collapsing library hanging precariously over the Wildsea. The escape is complicated by a powerful Whisper unleashed by Saturniidae, which causes the library to become entangled in rapidly growing thorny vines.

Key Events
Prepping for Trouble: The crew utilize their skills to recover resources and prepare for the impending attack by pinwolves. Saturniidae uses a Whisper to try to protect the sole surviving member of the One-Armed Scissor, but accidentally summons a spectral force that injures the party.
Thorny Escape: Saturniidae's shouted Whisper, "Secrets Wrapped in Thorns," creates a whirlwind of paper that transforms into a rapidly growing cocoon of thorny brambles. The cocoon expands, forcing the pinwolves back and pushing the library away from the tallshank tree it was anchored to.
Descent into Chaos: The library begins to collapse, forcing the players to navigate a chaotic environment filled with falling debris, thorny vines, and oozing crezzerin. Charybdis utilizes his unique skills and knowledge of plants to carefully extract Saturniidae from the thorny cocoon.
Leaps of Faith: Cory leaps from the collapsing library, embedding her spear into the tallshank tree and clinging for dear life. Charybdis uses his wavewalk skill to swing through a window and escape, while Saturniidae glides down to the Queen Crab using her elegant wings.
A Sinking Feeling: The library crashes into the edge of the rift, causing the nearby One Armed Scissor to tip and sink. The sinking ship evokes a sense of dread and PTSD in Charybdis, who witnesses a vision of his past death.
Return to Three Masks: The players successfully return to Three Masks, albeit injured and emotionally drained. They share their harrowing tale, warning others of the dangers that now infest the library and the surrounding area.

Character Highlights

Cory: Demonstrates agility and resourcefulness, using her spear to escape the collapsing library.
Charybdis: Utilizes his expertise in plants and his unique abilities to navigate the dangerous environment and save Saturniidae.
Saturniidae: Unintentionally unleashes chaos with her Whisper, but ultimately aids in the party's escape through her quick thinking, and suffers injuries and the effects of crezzerin poisoning.

Lingering Questions

What will become of the library now that it is infested with creatures and a Librico Ray?
Will the players attempt to retrieve more books or salvage anything from the wreckage?
How will the loss of the library affect the community of Three Masks?
What is the significance of the One Arm Scissor sinking into the rift?
