{"id":173,"date":"2007-06-07T12:42:35","date_gmt":"2007-06-07T12:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/random-average.com\/?p=173"},"modified":"2007-06-07T12:42:35","modified_gmt":"2007-06-07T12:42:35","slug":"wierd-internet-gestalt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/randomaverage.com\/index.php\/2007\/06\/wierd-internet-gestalt\/","title":{"rendered":"Wierd internet gestalt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, I was at the Forge forum, and reading down the forum thread: <a title=\"[Forge Midwest]Interview with Ron Edwards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.indie-rpgs.com\/forum\/index.php?topic=23897.0\">[Forge Midwest]Interview with Ron Edwards<\/a>, and promised myself to listen to it, cuz I met both the participants for the first time at the con, and that was really cool, and apparently the interview is good also.<br \/>\nThen, down toward the end, there&#8217;s this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWe all wonder, \u2018why are you [story-game proponents] so pissed at systems like White Wolf? They inspire rich story in their setting and flavor text, and the rules are simple enough to get out of our way and let us tell our story.\u201d And it becomes a badge of honor to say, \u201cthere are lots of times we don\u2019t even ever roll dice, all night long!\u201d<br \/>\nHey, I\u2019ve been that guy and part of me still is.
