Alphonse della Cava is one of the leading stonemasons and architects in the city of Petrana. A master of the art of masonry, della Cava was personally responsible for the design of many of the more impressive structures rebuilt after the war. The reconstruction was an arduous task, but with the Artisans guild (and della Cava) masterminding the operation, the projects went smoothly and in good time. However, the leaders of the city -- heavily influenced by the nobility -- refused to pay the Guild for their work, citing the already enormous economic burden due to the war.

Most see this as the beginning of the Freemen Rebellion?.

No one has been able to connect the rebellion to the della Cava family in any conclusive way.
