From Kaitaine

• Lord Marvars - the head of the house that's funding the colony. It was his choice to put Isadora in charge of the enterprise. He remains in Kaitaine.
• Adept Salast - also sent by Marvars as an advisor to the colony effort.
• Captain Jillams - the man in charge of the squad of soldiers sent to guard the expedition. Jillams is a follower of Cay, and he's befriended many of local Rhiani.
• Fazeris - leader of Isadora's dueling society, he has escorted Leuta to the camp.
• Lessos - merchant who has been making regular trips back and forth, making money on small trades, and information exchanging.
• Leuta - Isadora's sister, aged 19.
• Pallos - very rugged ranger who patrols the rout along the border of the white wood to make sure that it's clear for travelers. Very adept at avoiding the Vajaari.
• Narbin - Pallos' partner. Less rugged but still apparently very talented.
• Spekler - the colony quartermaster and cook. He's very good, and amongst the most well-liked members of the colony because of his prowess with food. A handsome Shay man.
• Kalden - soldier, member of Okhfels' Hero Band. Now deceased, reanimated, and crated for shipment.
• Lady Aspasia - Isadora's Mother. Trying to marry her off. Large.
• Poros - one of the leaders of the soldiers. Dead by Mitsis.
• Avarnast - soldier that follows Salast.
• Riku - soldier that follows Salast.

Rhiani

• Dhazari - leader of the Rhiani hunter's circle, and, thus, of the men who guide the hunts for the Flowers in the swamps. Friend of Mitsis.
• Mitsis - Murderer of one of the scouts. -10% to resist Isadora reading him. Now deceased, by Kalden's interference.
• Elahra - nosy woman. Pretty, about 20. Ex-girlfriend of Okhfels.
• Shahnsa - Cooperative Guide. Boyfriend of Elahra
• Suteh - local waterfinder mystic.
• Taharek - a good hunter, but no judge of his opponents. Challenged Okhfels.
• Alshor - a hunter Rhiani, and a skilled animist. Member of Okhfels' Hero Band.
• Rhosiar - witch of the swamp.
• Ahlnsa - Rhiani crone who "welcomed" Serama.

• Altynaruk - Elf of the A'kesh order.
• Amestris - Wife of Archelaus.
• Agok - goblin that does menial labor around the camp.
• Nurek - Vajaari traitor helping guide the travelers back and forth along the land rout to Kaitaine.
• Zoora - from Stroane, prietess of Andaras. She left Stroane because of religious persecution, and intended to travel to Kaitaine. The colony is as far as she's gotten, and has stayed because she's managed to get a few of the local Rhiani to join her in starting a new cult. She has a black cat familiar. She has cat symbols on the broad hem of her gown. She looks to be aging, but in good shape. Deceased.
• Captain Jeustian Kaltrain - captain of one of the skyships that stops at the colony. His ship is the Eridani II.
• Timothy - the First Mate of another skyship. An acquaintance of Sebastian's.
• Beliria - An important lady from Teth, leader of a small group of refugees at Green Lake.
• Nula - Rhiani river tribe woman captured with Teodric.
