In a sequestered enclave of Teth Hold, a group of women work at a forge which was built, legend has it, by an apprentice of the elf smith, Tethior. They are a tightly cloistered, celibate order; only the high priest of Tangon and the occasional female visitor may enter their chambers.

The Nun-smiths of Tethior hold the secret of forging tethium, the white steel alloy of surpassing quality. It is extremely durable and will carry a very good edge, so these weapons are greatly prized. Weapons made of tethium are given by the church to skilled warriors and heroes of Teth Hold. In the past, receiving one of these weapons was a great honor, but there are enough of them around that most people in the hold know someone who has one. Tethium weapons are one of the reasons Teth Hold has been able to hold out against the goblins for so long.

Tethium weapons are almost never made into missile weapons, and rarely a blunt weapon like a mace or morning star. By far, the most common weapon is heavy chopping blade that makes maximum use of tethium's powerful edge.
