The Wednesday Book Club originated in a time of great public distubance and official disapproval of magic study or use in Kaitaine. As a result the name of the organization is somewhat whimsical, but their aim is nothing less than to understand the best way to live. The revered founder, Hasrim Al'Qubal, claims to have learned all of his secrets an angel of the Most High, the Infinitely Just and Inexpressibly Merciful, who called himself Ismir.

Ismir taught Hasrim that there is an Eternal River in all situations, and that it was the chief duty of man to position himself correctly in that Flow to recieve and express the perfection of all things.
