OPEN THE VOID
This level of the power is dangerous to the user and the surrounding region. The Void Opening, a blacker than black tunnel to That Which Lies Between Worlds, lasts an indefinite time, from seconds to several minutes, closing unexpectedly. Worse, it weakens the veils between Shadows in the surrounding region, letting things wander across in either direction. Alien fauna often cause great damage. Opening the Void is very draining. The initiate can bridge the gap to Shadows she is familiar with, and which are within range-or she can make a random connection, rather like playing Russian Roulette with four chambers loaded.

CLOSE THE VOID
The initiate can now close the Opening when she wishes to make the necessary exertion, about half as draining as Opening it in the first place.

LIMIT THE VOID
The Initiate can prevent collateral Void Openings in the region. Or at least most of them. If she Closes promptly.

MASTER THE VOID
The Initiate can choose, to a large degree, the destination of a blind Void Opening. Thus avoiding chlorine atmospheres, herds of dinosaurs or Nazi fortresses. She can often go directly to the Shadow location of a person she knows well, if it is within range. Control depends on Psyche, experience, range and knowledge of the target.
