The currency of the Heroquest system. During play, Hero Points can be used to give yourself a (quite significant) bonus to a conflict resolution roll, and HP are also used to purchase improvements to your abilities, learn new abilities, or to cement relationships.

The dual role of HP within the system creates something of a "Do I want to be cool right now, or advance more quickly (so as to be cooler later)?" angst.
