Background: The eldest son of Ni Rao, a merchant who is seeking access to the markets of Xian Quan, hopefully access with perks such as control of the dye monopoly.
However Aoriu isn't interested solely in mercantile activities. On trading missions with his father to the various districts of the land he has become involved with a cult who seeks to gain power with from the Old Gods. With the acceptance of some of the old ways in Xian Quan it would be a good place to start a center of power.
To that end, he has become friends with Huigong Kung, the younger son of the district ruler. With him as a patron, or possibly with him as the ruler of the district, much could be done to further his goals.
Goal: Attain a position of trust or patronage with the power structure of Xian Quan, so as to be able to safely establish a religious site away from the eyes of the prying temple buddhists. Possibly also an advantageous marriage to help further his ties to the district.
