By Jamesmith Ursa, Anchor in Attendance:

The Loss wiped out many vast empires, none more so than the Astilan Cooperative, an empire that stretched across almost 500 space stations and over 100 Asteroid settlements covering almost a quarter of the Asteroid Belt for around 200 years to the point of the Loss.

The Cooperative were a civilisation who, after their initial settlement, chose to spurn the protective confines of Spacecraft, and instead chose to perform almost all their transit through their highly unique Yistolf? technology.

The Astilans were a curious blend of both agrarian communism and bloodthirsty warriorship, having no real class system and spurning the idea of a specialist society. Every soldier could farm, every farmer could fight, every person was a healer and engineer, etc. This system caused many retaliatory attacks against the Cooperative to fail incredibly quickly - attacking a farm was about as difficult as attacking a fortified military installation, as my fleet found out first hand.

The Cooperative’s wonders were few, but what there were… astounding. The lights of the Mynar Forests? I can tell you were in a class of their own, and the massive Spinning Rocks were a sight that I unfortunately never got the chance to see, though I’ve heard of the incredible kinetic symphony of the fields. As these were both man-made wonders, there is a chance that noone will ever see them again, a loss almost too great to bear in almost anyone’s eyes.
