Standard term from role playing, referring to the player who "plays the world", while the rest of the players concentrate on a single character. Derived from the term "Dungeon Master" in Dungeons & Dragons.

Use of this term is deprecated in Nobilis, for several reasons. Perhaps most importantly, it implies that one player "owns" the game, while the others are less important.

In Nobilis, the equivalent term is Hollyhock God.
