The history of Mythic Earth.

Just as prosaic objects have mythic representations, so Prosaic History has a mythic account. But the mythic account is more liquid, subjective and mutable, and details are sometimes blurred. The same prosaic history might have different mythic versions on different days. Mythic history tends to follow prosaic history, but can occasionally influence it by altering the:

  • details of prosaic events if those events haven't already been Witnessed
  • meaning of prosaic events that have been Witnessed

Nobles can change mythic history quite readily, using suitable Miracles.

Imperators can do even more. Through the use of Imperial miracles they can force mythic events to shape prosaic events, regardless of prosaic history. Mythic history doesn't care so much about what Nobles remember (or think they remember), as what mythic forces are acting upon it at the time. By forcing prosaic events to follow mythic events, Imperators can change history. They can't directly uncreate Imperators, Nobles or their Estates and Anchors with changes to mythic history, but can do almost anything else. And since some Excrucians (Mimics and Deceivers) can emulate Imperators, they can do this too.
