A rite through which a mortal can become a member of the Nobilis by force or subterfuge... the mortal consumes the heart of the Nobilis and, in killing the former Power and taking the Imperator's soul-shard for themselves, becomes the new Power of that Estate.

Imperators generally allows such a coup to stand no less than... 10% of the time, so for the the particularly power-hungry, this is seen as good odds for achieving godhood.
