Spirit helps control peoples (and reality's) gut reaction to your character. The higher your Spirit, the greater an impact even your slightest actions will have upon the world around you, even (perhaps especially) when other factors would normally dilute their importance. You can attempt to tone this down by restraining your manners and actions, but there is no metaphysical control over it. Your actions and words just have a weight that brushes aside all other concerns.
