Yoga flavored sorcery is a catch-all for Far Eastern mystical traditions like tantra, martial arts, qigong medicine, and other folklore. The root principle is that humans exist as a harmonious mixture of energies, which can be manipulated through meditation and proper lifestyle.

Yoga sorcery involves meditation, chanting, exotic modes of exercise, and a careful cultivation of herbs and foodstuffs to accumulate vital energy. A powerful yogi is intensely focused, and has utter control over his or her body, combined with deep insights into the world at large.

Prices

Yogis typically go into seclusion to avoid the temptations of daily life. But on their return to the every day world they sometimes run into trouble. Either they are too committed to the life of a hermit, or they find that years of denial have only strengthened the temptations' power over them.

Telltales

Yogis sometimes display strange behaviors--odd chants or bits of jargon, unexpected taboos, and so on. Some may have elaborate mandala tattoos.

Socially

Yogis tend to be reclusive, yet their spiritual power makes them figures of respect among their culture. A guru may take on one or two students, or a powerful martial artist might start an elite fighting monastery to train others in his arts.

Yoga Demon Ideas

Possessor and Inconspicuous demons are relatively rare in this tradition, but the other three--Parasites, Objects and Passers--have a place. Generally Yoga demons reflect the manipulation of the sorcerer's internal energy. Please note that the powers are suggestions, not requirements.

Awakened Chakra

Through deep meditation you have attained harmony with powerful aspect of your being, located along the spinal column. These are Parasite demons, perhaps with a Need for a special diet or meditative rite. Each chakra would be a different demon. Powers might include Boost, Hint, Perception, Protection, Psychic Force, or Travel (to the Astral Plane). An interesting chart for this: http://www.kenaz.com/notes/chakra_xls.htm(approve sites)

Hungry Ghost

An Inconspicuous undead demon linked to you via the chains of karma, either in your current life or from past incarnations. They usually Pact to resolve issues in their prior existence. Desire is almost always Final Rest. Powers might include Link, Mark, Shadow, and Taint.

Qigong Medicine

Ancient ways of curing the body and mind by manipulating another person's energy with accupuncture needles. These are Object demons with the abilities of Vitality and Special Non-Lethal Damage.

Tulpa

A tulpa is an imaginary being given independent existence through intense meditation. Passing demon. Their Desire is usually Corruption. Powers could include Confuse, Cover, Shapeshift, and possibly some combat powers.

Wuxia Martial Arts

Supernatural powers gained by elaborate training rites to focus one's natural energy. This would be handled as a parasite demon, since the qi is gushing through you in a highly energized state; the demonic telltale might be an utterly fearless gaze. Powers could include Cloak, Fast, Hold, and Special Lethal Damage; possibly Travel for climbing walls, or Warp for chopping through wood or stone.

Another option in the Martial Arts stuff might be an exotic weapon or armor.

Yoga Drugs and Poisons

The Far East has a tradition of folk medicine that is surprisingly complex--the Qigong needles listed above are just one part of it. Special herbs, powdered gems, and other rare elements are mixed together to form pills and other mystical compounds. These often have very strange powers--in Taoist legends, you could take a pill and gain the power of flight, for example, or be able to talk to animals. There are also lethal poisons used by assassins. Creating this stuff is usually a Lore vs. Power roll.
