Excerpt from Notes from an Earther's Sojourns, by Lara Exquisite

I saw the meteors fall that night in 2084* on New Ulan Bator. My posting there was mercifully brief; a mere 16 Earth days until the evacuation that unknowingly brought the Anger Investiture back to Earth. "(anger/discontent/elimination of the alien) is a concept not unique to your species," my patron Power was heard to say many years after that fateful day.

The Anger Investiture was an alien macro-intelligence that resided in host bodies with central nervous systems. "Anything with a neuron" would've been their motto. One neuron, to be precise. All it took was one simple organic on-off switch to play host one of their thoughts. They'd then spread their consciousness among the host bodies, each hosting just one neuron's worth of info: they literally took over whole species bit by bit. The problem was that most often that one tiny brain cell misfiring inevitably led the host bodies to profound psychosis and eventual homicidal mania. The Anger Investiture, therefore, had to travel frequently to stay out of permanent telepathic hibernation.

It was only through the swift actions of the Pan-Indian Programmers Corps that the entire Anger Investiture was downloaded into the nascent organic superintelligence, the Diego Garcia Biointelligence Array. The close proximity of the Anger Investiture's constituent binary-telepathic components to each other led to its immediate dispersal.
