City Back is the great labyrinthine Chancel of Ananda, Lord of the Infinite, Murder, Cities, and the Fourth Age. It underpins every urban center on Earth, echoing their major features. It is a place of rich and vibrant life, weirdling creatures and odd men in rain slickers going about their own mysterious business at all hours of the day and night.

For some Nobles, City Back can almost come to be a second home. It has a host of conveniences. If you are patient and knowledgeable, almost any city in the world is within walking distance, or a short terrifying taxi-cab ride. And, of course, there are things to be purchased here that never quite make it to the shelves of stores in the mortal world. Ananda and its Powers encourage well-behaved visits from their Noble peers. This is seen by some as an awesome display of their certainty in their own power, and by others as a reckless display of arrogance. But whatever their opinions, there are few who would willingly endure being banished from this huge swath of the Hidden World, a fate that befalls only the most vehemently rude and obnoxious visitors.
