The United States Department of Cancellations was born as a result of the terrible actions of the Kansas City Gang? as it spiraled into decadence at the end of the 20th century. As calls for action to be taken, the US Congress formed the Department who then Utilized the then new techniques of Memetic Encoding?, together with break through foresight technology pioneered by the skilled engineers of the Pan-African Teleostean Hegemony. An interesting aside is that Botswana latter became one of the major holdouts against the spread of the Department.

The Jovian Riots of 2010?* solidified the need for such an organization in the minds of many, and its influence spread, crossing many jurisdictions and morphing as astral-politics changed until its inevitable disbandment in 2305, a relic of a past age.

In its heyday the Department of Cancellations utilized foresight and memetic technology to forecast the probable trends of beliefs, ideas, thoughts and to channel them into socially constructive ways. And, when necessary, to cancel them, using whatever means where necessary. While not welcome throughout all of human space, in those areas where it was welcomed the Department of Cancellation led to new heights of glory for humanity and its off-shoots.
