The Coil, also known as Project: Endgame?, is the only spaceship known to have fallen before she existed. She was a secret project funded by multiple shadowy entities but she sailed under the flag of Great Britain. The Coil was to be the weapon with which Britain "won" the Proxy Wars.

A team of renegade scientists developed a method by which Future Thesis technology could be used to launch surgical strikes against specific areas of the future and they sold these secrets to The Crown. The Coil was the unseen terror of the solar system. She never traveled in time herself; her victims simply found themselves afflicted with gremlins. Future-Britain prospered while the other Great Powers teetered on the verge of economic and social collapse.

Unfortunately for Britain, Botswanan spies from the beseiged future attacked the ship and turned the great engines back upon themselves. The saboteurs flooded the "Thesis Cannon" with discordant energies thus sending the heart of the Coil into a temporal inversion which effectively uncreated the ship and made all of her exploits impossible.

Only a very few technicians and temporal savants? remembered the events surrounding The Coil and her crew. The cabal of Botswanan operatives, having locked the door to their own time, went immediately and stealthily underground but their legacy lived on in the form of the notorious Yesterday Squads?.
