Most of Mundane History is an outright lie. Not only did the creation of Prosaic Reality invent billions of years of universal history wholesale, the Prosaic Earth twists modern history around at every turn to properly explain the present Mythic situation. If Excrucians kill a car-spirit, Prosaic Reality can't simply have the car fall to pieces on the spot—it must insert a series of small and large mechanical failures into the recent past to justify that collapse. It's not so much that the spirit of the Earth, whose desires maintain Prosaic Reality, runs around fixing every little detail. Rather, except when Noble miracles intervene, it forces the present to conform both to logic and to Mythic truth. The past unfolds naturally from that present.
