How do I get a wordcount for my entry?

Put this down at the end of your post:

     Wordcount: {(wordcount)}

Should work like a charm, and look like this:

Wordcount: (wordcount)

Will you accept "dibsies" placed (via Wiki) on stories?

I think that's the best idea. It will be little weird on this project, since it won't be a proper Lexicon with the handy alphabetical organization, so I think that on The Stories page we'll break the page down into turns and have people just add their 'dibs' to (ONLY!) the next turn...

For example:

Part Two

... so that folks know I intend to write that for Turn Two, which should help keep anyone from duplicating.

I have an idea for a story that I really want to include. What would be a good way to make sure that it gets in?

Write it! :)

The only thing I want to make sure of with the little set of rules is that we each do the minimum thing that's part of 'the rules' -- if we don't get those phantoms out there, we kinda leave someone else hanging later. If you have something that will take longer than a three-day turn or that just seems outside of this proposed plan, write it anyway and post it as a "Bonus!" in the "The Stories".

So your options would be:

  • Write your thing right off in the first turn, with a 'placeholder' page in the wiki that links to your two required phantoms, filling in the story when it's done.
  • Write it as a bonus piece.
  • Write it for a later turn, fitting it in as your story for one of the cool phantom titles that someone put up there.

More rules.
