Basking in the glorious sunshine of the Eastern Reaches of the Pearl Bright Ocean?, the Tigris Archipelago is the home of Prince Abdul Rahman Al Katab, the Tiger folk, and their vassals, the Lemur people.

The Tiger-folk believe all is well in their kingdom, and that the Lemur-people are happy subjects: does not one of their number hold the exalted position of Grand Vizier to the king? But something is rotten in the Striped Isles: the king has been trading the lives of his subjects - and recently his popular son, the Prince - to Tang Kol Pan, in exchange for longer life. The Prince has vowed revenge on his dastardly sire, and hopes one day to elevate the Lemur people to equality with the noble Tiger-folk.
