Captain: Finnras Marek Delain

CONCEPT
Finn is the captain of the Binturong, an independent scouting vessel. Crew complement is small, and the ship herself is tough, nimble, and ugly.

Finn's done decades of work as a scout, but has worked mostly short-term independent contracts for the past ten years or so, taking work that the territories don't want to handle with their own people, for whatever reason -- sometimes going without work rather than do a job he doesn't think is 'right'. This semi-retirement status changed when he got a transmission from his daughter Kaetlyn, who has since gone missing. The last message from her (she was a scouting job far -- too far -- into the Remnants) was panicked and mentioned that 'they captured another one of us'. (Scourge hint.)

Finn does believe in doing 'the right thing' for all the Big reasons -- one of the reasons he works contracts now instead of taking a steady job with a Guild or company is because he wants to be able to refuse work he thinks is wrong.

PERSONALITY Finn is, first and foremost, a father. His daughter is grown, and she's off on her own, but that doesn't stop his inherent instincts -- Finn's version of hell is a world where he has outlived his child.

This mindset extends (somewhat) to his crew, but he is not a pushover 'parent' by any means.
