Species

Arcana Unearthed is too sophisticated for elves, y'know, but it's got these elfy Fairies. And it's too mature to have, like, Dwarves or anything like that, except for these dwarfy Giants. Anyway--here's the list:

• AU Humans - You probably have firsthand experience with these
• AU Fairies - Leprechauns, quicklings, pixies, woodsprites, dryads, etc.
• AU Giants - Um, they are giants.
• AU Dragon-Spawn - Former humans who have undergone twisted rituals
• AU Jackal-Kin - Servants of the Giants
• AU Lion-People - Barbaric nomads
• AU Verrik - Psychic desert-dwellers
• AU Child of the Pattern? - Mystically branded "racial template"
  
  

Bestiary

Various critters from the setting. I have renamed some of them, because so many of them have names like "Arathad," "Grynloc," or "Kahrn" which are either unprounceable or impossible to remember. To me it sounds like the authors just selected a bunch of random sounds and stuck them together. When the names aren't abitrary noises, they're things like the "Hypnolox," which sounds like something Svengali caught on a fishing trip in Sweden. So... that's the naming thing.

• AU Chorrim? - They're not ogres, okay? They just fill the same niche.
• AU Inshons? - They're not goblins. Merely the functional equivalent.
• AU Memory Wolf?
• AU Vulture-Men? - Magic-stealing conspirators
