More commonly referred to as "Newts" for the fact that they look a lot like bipedal newts (and most humans can't remember how to pronounce their full name). Newts are a minor race that can be found in small numbers all throughout the Imperium, often a civil servants. The Bwaps seem to have an ingrained world view that, even if they aren't from a Bwap culture primarily, they seem to cling to with few exceptions. It involves the notion that the entire universe is somehow intertwined, and that the only reasonable way to deal with it is through the employment of formalities. For this reason Newts are particularly suited to roles where such a regimen is part and parcel of the job. Hence, again, why they are found as bureaucrats more than in any other role in imperial society.

Due to their rigid patterns of work, Newts are able to keep organized information and materials in a way far superior and beyond the ken of humans.

Secret of Humidity Tolerance

Newts can exist in comfort with any level of humidity over 98% (a human might die of heat exhaustion while a Newt wouldn't even notice). Below that, they wear special garments that keep them hydrated.

Most Newts seem incapable of not following patterns and cycles. 1 XP act in a discernable pattern. 2 XP perform some exotic ritual that the newt feels must be performed to otherwise do something quite mundane (i.e. walk around the kitchen ten times before washing the dishes). 5 XP Jeopardize something important due to having to take extra time to do something in the "proper" fasion. Buyoff: do something that previously required such a ritual without the ritual... just do it.
