Description: A middle-aged, solidly built woman, round of face, dark of eyes. Smiles play upon her face, but can quickly turn to thin lips of grim determination. Her hair is black, of course, tied back. Her clothing and armor are black and well-made, but lack a mon (crest) and show some wear and (good) repairs. She moves easily and quickly; her voice is rich and deep.

BACKGROUND: Why is the character a Ronin? Why does the character need the money from this deal?

I am the wife of Toyo Kuroyoru, a loyal and trusted samurai retainer to Lord Hiroshi, daimyo over a prefecture to the south. Though I am a woman, I was raised, as nobility, trained in the art of bushido and the samurai, and I have even trained other women in Lord Hiroshi's court to protect our Lady Aiko.

Two years ago, a great evil sent its agents against Lady Aiko, for our Lord is a good man and has fought against the darkness in the past, and the evil sought to break him. In the battle that ensued, my husband was killed by the attackers. I asked our Lord to strike back, but he declined, as the source of the evil was not known, and for fear of his lands and people and wife. I asked, instead, that Lord Hiroshi give me leave to seek vengeance myself, and he agreed, though I could not fly his mon in this cause, but must act as ronin, a masterless samurai.

So, here am I. It has been two years, but I now know that the Mountain Witch is the one whom I seek, for my heart draws me toward Fuji-sama, and the evil he has committed against our late Emperor mirrors the attack on my Lord and Lady. That I am offered money for this will not make up for the sacrifices I have been forced to make, but my vengeance upon this great darkness will. Not his walls nor his fell magic nor the threat of death will keep me from what I seek ...
