In 1839, as mortal man calculates time, the Council of Four bound itself together in a bold, new experiment: the Concordat Magna or Great Concord. Brilliantly, the four Council members took upon themselves to share a single Noble, in the person of the Immortal Empress, VictoriaRegina.

The Concord was brilliant in its unprecedented merging of Imperator shards into a single mortal frame, which merging itself represented the "signing" of the Concordat (that certain signs occured in the heavens at about this time, including the Panoply of White Fire? and reversal of the Great Aetheric Stream?, reinforced the metaphor). Driven by the Splendid Magellenic Rending of 1835, those of the Council, even the mighty Lord Entropy, made the decision that their most cunning strategy was to accelerate the development of humanity into a force that could successfully combat the Excrucian horde. Binding their wills together through a joint enNoblement of a preeminent mortal ruler was the most expeditious means of doing this. Under the Concordat, the powerful Imperatorial Command directed deployment of the Chancels Legion against the Excrucian menace throughout the heavens and across the stars, even unto the Corelands Desert? itself!

The Concordat was broken upon the foul murder of the Immortal Empress, and Lord Entropy swiftly renewed his dominion over the Council, acceding to the Rollback and finding new ways to bring the Valde Bellum to our enemies.

Some claim that the close binding of the Council reduced Lord Entropy's relative influence, weakening enforcement of the Code Fidelitatis amongst the Nobility. They go on in their shadowed whispers to assert this is one reason why the other three Council members supported the Concordat -- and why the Darkest Lord? welcomed both its end and the Rollback, both in re-exercising his authority and in removing from mortal memory those betrayals of the Code he felt too great a blot on Noble honor. Indeed, those very dastardly rumors hint -- with no foundation, certainly -- that Entropy may have, himself, been involved in the Concordat's eventual unravelling.

With the breaking of the Concordat, the Council Of Four charted quite a different, yet equally zestful course for the Twentieth Century... and beyond. Will the wonders of the next four hundred years match what was seen at the climax of the Concordat Magna? Only if the bold, adventuresome spirit of that Lost Era still survives in the breast of the Nobility, and the Imperators who even to this day guide us on toward victory!
