The part that I’m curious about is how they decided to to differing power types.

To be honest, most of the Crossgen line doesn’t interest me — and most of what does, has little or nothing to do with the Sigil, etc.
It could be useful stuff for High Powered Deity/Demi-Deity Multi-Dimensional types of campaigns, I suppose.
