Independent game developer Guild Software Inc has launched an Android version of Vendetta Online, giving early adopters and Android fanbois the chance to jump into space battles, fly rocket ships, mine asteroids, or just blast bad guys in the face with your friends.
As one does.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing our long-running PC MMO to the mobile world,” said John Bergman, CEO of Guild Software. “The portability and power of these new Tegra devices [Ed.: running Android Honeycomb 3.0. /nerd], along with the open development philosophy of the Android platform, have made it possible for us to create a fully-featured port of the PC gaming experience on a lightweight tablet.”
GS’s press-release indicates that forthcoming updates will broaden compatibility to include smaller phone-sized devices (!), as well as adding support for integrated voice chat. Also, the new port of the title offers a special single-player mode that’s currently exclusive to Android, allowing players to practice flying and participate in mini-games while offline.
Vendetta Online will be available through Tegra Zone, a free app found on the Android Market that provides access to games for Tegra-powered phones and tablets.
